00:00:00Graphic novels led the way when it came to my book choices for the month of May lovelies! Not normally a genre I would go for, I found myself delving into them hard and I loved every single one I read! Now, as I share them today, I hope you can love them as much as I did! Find what I read here!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Reading has become a bit of a struggle recently lovelies! I’ve read so many good books this year so far that I feel like I have hit a slump. Therefore, I decided to turn to a genre that I don’t normally read. Graphic novels. I have read a few in the past but I was interested in reading more.
Alongside some short form novels, I enjoyed diving into a brand new way of reading. I definitely think that I will be picking up a whole load more when I next go to the library. Find out what I read during May below lovelies…
Mismatched by Anne Camlin - Graphic novels are not normally the kind of books I pick up. Yet, I was intrigued by this, as it presented Heartstopper and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie vibes to me. And boy did it deliver in both! As we enter the month of Pride, I can’t recommend this LGBTQ+ book enough.
Toffee by Sarah Crossan - I forgot how good this book was until I read it-read it last month. You feel a pure connection with the character, as Crossan captures the brilliant hardships that come with trying to find your place in the world. Both young and old will enjoy this in one sitting.
Where The Heart Should by Sarah Crossan - There isn’t a book that I can say compares to this. Presenting a new take on the tragic potato famine that happened in Ireland, it’s a love story but with a difference. I read this in about an hour or so, as I was so hooked. It’s stayed with me ever since.
Tyranny by Lesley Fairfield - As someone who suffers from an eating disorder, it can be hard to explain to people what that voice in my head is like. This graphic novel explains it incredibly well. Whilst everyone is different when it comes to their illness, this should be gifted to those around them to explain what they are going through. It’s triggering but incredibly well written.
What did you all read in May lovelies? Tell me all about it in the comments lovelies, as I am always on the look out for something new to read!
