My July 2025 Hertford Library Books Selection
00:00:00July is here and that means that we are truly in the heart of summer! The school holidays are about to begin and hours of fun embarked on! Including trips to our local libraries or book shops! To give you a little bit of inspiration, here are my book selections that are on display and ready for you to enjoy at Hertford Library!
Good Morning Lovelies,
Already dreaming about spending the next few weeks lounging in the sun with a good book? Well, I may be able to help you with that dream by giving you a few book choices to pick from!
Out now in Hertford Library, my top book choices for the month includes something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a summer love story or a dark murder mystery, I hope you can all enjoy something from the following this July…
Book of the Month - All The Colours Of The Dark by Christopher Whitaker: I learnt about this book from a show on BBC Two and was instantly intrigued by it. Full of tragedy, this story will have you hooked from start to finish, as you see the young man grow up wondering so much about the actions of others around him. It will stay with you for days after you close the last page.
Think Again by Jacqueline Wilson: Summer is the perfect time to remember those innocent childhood days, where hours could be spent reading a good book in the summer holidays. Wilson is transporting us back in time by bringing to life another story featuring Magda and the Girls in Tears group. This is a more mature story however, so prepare for lots of adult based fun this time around.
Seven Summers by Paige Toon: Toon just knows how to bring to life a love story that reflects the season. Grab a refreshing drink, pop back the sun lounger and prepare to have your heart soar with this novel.
We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han: As the world prepares for the final TV adaptation of these hit books, get ahead of the game by reading about what happens whilst you wait. Team Conrad all the way here!
Story Of My Life by Lucy Score: Another legend at romance, Score captures two people who are both fighting their own battles whilst falling in love with each other. Prepare for tears, laughter and a whole host of emotions to be felt along your reading journey lovelies.
Wildfire by Hannah Grace: Ever dreamed about being a part of those great Camp America summer holidays? Well, this book will take you right into the heart of one. Following two college students, be prepared for a lot more spice and flames than what is being represented at the camp bonfires.
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman: It won’t be long until we get to see the fabulous Helen Mirren taking on the lead role in the Netflix adaptation of this hit book. Before that happens though, take a moment to read the fabulous novel that started it all.
Let’s Split Up by Bill Wood: If you are a big fan of murder mysteries then you will be gripped from the very first page of this one. Full to the brim with suspense, horror and a little bit of gore, you won’t be able to put this down until you find out what really happened and whodunnit.
My Favourite Mistake by Marian Keyes: Everyone is talking about this book and rightfully so. Keyes takes us right into the heart of Ireland and her characters to give us another epic love story.
Where The Heart Should Be by Sarah Crossan: Unlike anything that I have read before, this short form story will ruin your heart. Telling the story of the great potato famine that destroyed Ireland, it mixes a heart wrenching love story with tragedy in a beautiful way.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber: Summer nights often call for circuses to come to town. However, none are as magical as the one represented in this book. You can expect tricks galore throughout the plot of this one.
All of these books are up on my display at Hertford library now lovelies, as well as within many local libraries around the UK, so keep an eye out for them on your next visit! What have you all been reading? Let me know and I may just pick it first my next display!
