Growing up, we would always take our dog on holiday with us to our caravan. From the moment that she got in the car, she would pant, move around and be incredibly unsettled until we got there and she could be released. Even though we did everything we could to calm her.

Make Sure You Find A Pet-Friendly Place To Stay: Whether you are staying in a hotel, caravan or an Airbnb, make sure to find a place to stay that is suitable for your animal. To help settle your pooch in, a home diffuser starter set may be the thing you need. Or a super cosy dog bed. 

Get Your Dog Checked By A Vet Before Travelling: If you are travelling far with your dog, make sure to take them to your local vets to make sure they are okay to travel. Get any jabs done whilst there and ask any questions you may have. There is nothing silly about being super cautious. Animed can help you to get any prescriptions filled out in time too.

Make Sure You Have Packed All Your Pets Essentials: From bowls to toys, packing for your dog can be as important as packing for yourself. Make sure to include all the essentials, as well as a few extras. Travel water bottles are about to become your best friend. 

Keep Your Dog Comfy When Travelling: If your dog is like mine was and jumps around the car, give them a safe space to travel in. Comfy fabric crates will help them stay secure, whilst cooling mats that they can lie on will allow them to stay comfortable throughout the potentially hot car journeys.

Make Sure Your Dog Stays Hydrated: Even if you have packed a travel water bottle, you will also need to make sure that your dog is hydrated in other ways too. Doggy sun mists and wipes should be packed as much as your own toiletry bag should be. Plus, a fantastic cooling towel will allow for your dog to stay as chilled as possible. Just like they had had a dip in the pool themselves.

Respect The Rules Of The Local Areas: Like when you are at home, it is important to respect the local area that you have escaped too as well. Make sure to carry poo bags and keep your dog on a lead to keep not only others safe but also your dog too.
