00:00:00

Summer is here and that means a trip to your local library or book shop is a must! On my display at Hertford Library, I have selected a number of summery reads that are perfect for reading whether on a picnic or by the pool! Find out what I have chosen for you all this May right here!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Every month, my reading list gets longer and longer! Honestly, I have had to ban myself from TikTok, as the endless suggestions were getting too much for me! However, with so many options to choose from, it does mean that I have been able to collect many summery books for you all to enjoy from Hertford Library and many others.

This month on my display, I have chosen the following for you all to cosy up with on a hot sunny day in May…

Book Of The Month: Sunrise On The Reaping by Susanne Collins - You know when a book stays with you for days after finishing it? Well, this one has stayed with me for a few months now. I always loved Haymitch as a character and this completely and utterly destroyed me. A true piece of art in book form!

Rival Darling by Alexandra Moody - My YA pick of the month has to be this one. It transported me back to my teen years. A time when I would stay up all night reading books. The hockey romance is cute, fun and at times a bit tense. Just the sort of book every romance fan loves.

Probably Nothing by Lauren Bravo - I adored Preloved by Lauren Bravo, so when I spotted she had a new book out, I snapped it up quick. Full of wonder and awe about life, this is an exciting read that will have you feeling very thankful for those around you.

The Convenience Store By The Sea by Sonoko Machida - This book is a true wonder, as it captures the stories of the visitors who stop by the shop in the book. After finishing it, I couldn’t help but wonder about the people who were in a shop with me. You will want to know everyone’s story after reading this.

Powerless by Lauren Roberts - With the final book in the series having just come out, I thought it was only right to display and pick the fantastic debut in it. From the moment it starts you will be hooked into the fantasy world of the characters. Plus, it has one of the best YA love story’s going.

Just For The Summer by Abby Jimenez - Summer is nearly here and that means that the best summer romances are to be read. Jimenez has a way of transporting us all to beautiful places whilst capturing the wonders of love and life fantastically.

The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han - Having been made into a TV series, the cast and crew announced that the third season is to be its final one. Cue a lot of internal sobbing. Therefore, I wanted to prepare everyone for it by picking it this month as a catch up piece. Young and old will love this summer love story.

What You Are Looking For Is In The Library by Michiko Aoyama - I feel most at home in a library and this book captures why we may feel that way in a beautiful way. Honestly, it is a modern classic that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

My Favourite Mistake by Marian Keyes - Keyes is an epic creator and her latest novel proves it. Transporting us back to Ireland, it made me even more excited to return to Dublin this summer. Her way of making a scene come to life is why she is a true artist and this book proves it.

The Satsuma Complex by Bob Mortimer - After making us all laugh o when he is on TV, I wanted to pick this beautiful book by the comedian. A lot deeper than you may think, it has light hearted moments that show Mortimer’s ever growing talents.

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt - This book is very different to anything I have ever read before but that is what makes it so special. If you want to branch out into the unknown but know you are safe then this is the book for you lovelies!

What have you been reading lately? What is on your to be read list for May? Let me know lovelies! And please head to Hertford library if any of these books are what you are looking for, as they are out on display now!
