Everything You Need For The Perfect Summer Picnic
00:00:00Picnic season is upon us lovelies, as we are now officially heading into summer! To celebrate the chance to head to your local beach or park for the ultimate gathering, I have gathered an essentials list to help you plan for the big event! I promise that ants and wasps are not included, just never ending feel good food, drink and entertainment wonders!
Good Morning Lovelies,
There is something so lovely about the idea of having a picnic, which is made even more special if it happens. However, the planning and maintenance of hosting one can sometimes get a bit too much. Where will it be? What should you make to eat and drink? Will there be wasps galore? Each of these can make it hard to actually go ahead with it.
Yet, I am here to help make the planning a little bit easier, as I have created the ultimate list to ensure that you don’t forget anything! Suns out, picnics about with these wonders…
A Picnic Bag or Basket: Don’t use a plastic bag! They can break and then madness will just begin. Take the time to fully pack a classic basket or bag with all the essentials to make it a whole lot easier. You can also include ice packs within a bag, which will keep food fresher for longer and drinks well chilled.
Picnic Blankets and Cutlery: Don’t sit or lay everything out on the ground if there are no picnic tables around. Grab a cosy blanket or a picnic one to lay on the ground to keep dirt and mess at bay. If you take an extra one, you can then wrap it round you when it gets chilly. With access to a blanket, you can also print paper or reusable picnic cutlery and utensils to help keep everything in order. However, I am all for a lay out and pick option too.
Picnic Food & Drink Must-Haves: Sausage rolls, sandwiches, mini Cornish pasties, big bags of crisps, pork pies, scotch eggs, chopped fruit and veg with dips and of course mini cakes and scones are delicious when laid out on a picnic blanket. Honestly, it is like the good vibes make them taste better. Plus, when washed down with fresh lemonade, elderflower juice, Pimm’s or chilled wine, an apple cider or a classic cup of tea, the event is just taken to a whole new level!
Sunscreen and Umbrellas At The Ready: In England, it can be sunshine skies one minute and pouring down the next. Therefore, it is essential to pack both your sunscreen and an umbrella for a picnic! You never know which one you will need but both are picnic essentials here.
Lights, Cards and Music: Pop a speaker or charge up your phone and play summertime songs throughout the meal. Take a good book or a pack of cards and simply relax because with all the essentials packed up the event will be a breeze. Something that could see it going on well into the night, so pack a few portable lights to help you stay safe and cosy at night.
Whilst there are many things that you can take with you on a picnic, these are the main essentials that will make everything a breeze! Honestly, a simple sausage roll, glass of Pimm’s and good music is all you need! Anyone else already dreaming about having their first one of the season now?
