00:00:00

Christmas can be a tough time, so it is importantly find ways to help you unwind after a busy day! I’ve come up with five ways to help you relax, rest and enjoy the festive season as much as you can! Dreaded burnout be gone, these tips will have you loving December all over again! It’s time to rest up and have fun!

Good Morning Lovelies,

Over the past few months, due to endless stressful health conditions, I suffered terrible burnout. It was life changing and made me really step back and look at how I was living my life. Honestly, I wasn’t surviving. I was getting sicker, letting my ED take over and I was hardly sleeping at all.

Therefore, I had to make a lot of changes. Now, I sleep in, drink more water and am trying to cut back on the amount of sugar I am eating. I’m gently getting back into walking and I’m taking my health seriously. If I need to see a doctor I will go. I will fight for me.

During Christmas, many of us will suffer from burnout or stress. It is therefore vital to take a moment for ourselves throughout the festive period to unwind and relax. I have gathered five tips that I have tried and tested, which I hope can help you stay calm or a little more at ease this Christmas lovelies. Grab a hot chocolate and a little read of these…

Sleep In & More: I’ve really had to train my brain to not see sleeping as being lazy. It is honestly the best medicine for us. I try to get between six and seven hours now but on Sunday’s I have areal lazy morning, which my body needs. If you feel tired or like your body needs to rest go and have a nap or except that lie in lovelies. Even early nights are cool again. You can’t beat a cosy restful bed routine under the festive lights.

Enjoy A Warming Drink: Whether it be a festive coffee, calming tea or a super creamy hot chocolate, a warm drink can instantly make you feel calmer. That warm fuzzy feeling it places in your stomach is like a hug in a mug. Unwind with your favourite under a big throw on the sofa or all wrapped up like Cameron Diaz in The Holiday in bed.

Go For A Gentle Walk: It can be a five or fifty minute walk, but by simply getting out in nature can really help clear your mind. I am building myself back up to going on gentle walks, after a bad case of vertigo, and it’s truly wonderful at helping me relax. Pop on a podcast, some music or simply embrace the natural sounds around you this Christmas.

Binge A Good Book, Show or Film: After a walk or busy day, get that soft fluffy blanket or duvet, pick up the remote or a book and embrace the beauty of a good binge. I love spending a few hours a day watching my favourite festive films and TV programmes at Christmas or snuggling up with a good Christmas enchanted book to escape reality for a few hours. I would definitely suggest The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore, as a festive read, or Nativity for a feel good film to watch.

Have A Pamper Day: You don’t even have to get dressed to do this one! On a Sunday, I am often found in my PJs all day pampering myself. This includes an everything shower, hair and skin care, micro-blading and teeth care. Take a day or a few to simply look after yourself. It doesn’t have to be for a party or event, it can be just for you. You are the ultimate gift after all!

Unwinding at Christmas can be hard but I hope with these few simple tips that you can do so a bit easier! Let’s start now with a cup of tea shall we!
