When I was little, there was nothing better than scooting around my village! Even after I had an accident on one, I still got back on it again, as I loved the freedom it brought me! There so, when Skates got in touch offering me the chance to trial their range with my niece and nephew, I couldn’t wait to test them out!

Growing up, I was very lucky to be able to enjoy the freedoms that bikes and scooters brought. However, as much as I loved my bike, my scooter was the elite choice. Going up and down our road on mine made me feel like the coolest person in the world. With the wind flowing through my hair and not a care within me, I just loved it. 

There so, after putting out a shoutout looking for toys to trial in time for Christmas, I was in awe when Skates got in touch asking if I would like to put their products to the test. Creators of pioneering scooters, skates and skateboards, the brand are changing the game with their models and makes that suit all ages. 

Opting for one suitable for my nine year old nephew and three year old niece, the company kindly gifted me a pastel pink JD Bug Junior Street Foldable Scooter, for my niece, and a super cool, Nitro Circus Ryan Williams Junior Replica 2022 Complete Stunt Scooter, for my nephew. Keeping the choices hidden from them until they arrived, the excitement was almost too much for them to handle. 

When the scooters arrived, after only one day of standard delivery, they quickly ripped open the bag to see what was inside. Looking at my nephew, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the happiness that instantly showed up in his eyes. Proudly exclaiming how cool it was to have a stunt scooter, he opened the box to take the scooter out to use. 

Loving the cool design and black and gold colouring, he found the added signature on the board a huge hit, stating that it made him feel like a professional. After assembling the scooters bars, he begged to go out on it and hit the local park. As did his little sister, who couldn’t stop telling us that her scooter was pink. 

Both climbed on top of each of theirs in no time, zooming around the house, as we waited for the rain to pass. Since that moment, they have been zooming everywhere in fact. They adore the ease of heading out on them, much like I did all those years ago on mine. 

My nephew told me that he feels super cool when put on his and that he can’t wait to learn some stunts on his one. As soon as the weather got brighter, he couldn’t wait to lookup a skate park to hit. A helmet and pads are definitely going to be our next investment, as he is now seeking to go to be the next Ryan Williams it seems. 

As for his little sister, she is in as much love as him. My niece adores riding alongside her big brother when put now. Even when she gets bored, their mum and dad love the scooters easy foldable adaptions, which mean that they don’t have to drag or carry such a bulky item anymore. 

Overall, Skates are a brand that are making the best scooters for their clients around the world. From cool designs, easy to ride adaptations and age catered products, Skates and their scooters have gone down a real treat in our house! My nephew hasn’t been off their website since and we are now seeing roller skates in his future. 

I can’t thank Skates enough for giving us the most perfect products to end the summer with. Getting to and from school has just been made a whole lot easier now, as their mum no longer has to chase them to get them out the door with their scooters now waiting for them! Instead, she is having to chase them to keep up with all the fun! She may just have to get a scooter too!
